YOUNG GIRL GETS NORMAL LOOK

Nathugadh is a small village in Ghogha Taluka with a population of nearly 2000 people. Jitubhai lives with his wife and a daughter in this village. Jitubhai is a diamond polisher and his wife is a farm labourer. Their 8-year old daughter Hiteshvi reading in III std had a squint eye since birth.
Blindness Prevention Team of P.N.R. Society (partnered by IMPACT Foundation U.K. and Dalal Family Foundation U.S.A.) happened to visit the primary school of Nathugadh village where Hiteshvi was spotted having squint eye. The team explained her class teacher that her squint eye can be surgically corrected. The screening revealed that there was also impairment of vision in the Squint Eye.
She was advised to report to PNR Special Hospital where Lady Egremont Pediatric
Ophthalmic Camp was to be organized. Dr. Janak Shah, Mumbai-based renowned Pediatric Ophthal Surgeon, performed surgery of left eye on 22 Aug 2015. Jitubhai, father of girl, was very much relieved that his beloved daughter was treated at the hands of a very experienced and compassionate doctor. He feels that without this prevention team, his daughter would never have got a normal look and would have suffered for no fault of hers.
