Name : Ms. Mittal Mansurbhai Mobh Age : 11 yrs / girl The Blindness Prevention Team of Prevention of Disability Programme of PNR Society partnered by IMPACT Foundation, U.K. and Dalal Family Foundation, USA happened to visit a Primary School of Garibpura of Ghogha Taluka as a part of regular screening of children of 2-14 years age. One girl named Mittal Mobh of VIth Std. was found to have vision impairment. She comes from poor farmer family. Her father had met with an accident death. Her uncle had no formal education. Her mother had studied upto Vth Std. Mittal has an elder sister. Mittal had difficulty in reading books of study. Financial stringency prevented her treatment. The Prevention Team counselled the family and advised them to bring Mittal to PNR Special Hospital. She was diagnosed having juvenile cataract in both eyes. Dr. Janak Shah, Mumbai-based renowned Paediatric Ophthal Surgeon operated her and also fitted lens on 17 April, 2015. Lens were sponsored by Dr. Shah. Mittal is now fine and pursuing study without any problem. The family not only expressed gratefulness to Doctor but appreciated the PNR efforts to reach unreached and facilities extended.
