He joined the P.N.R. Society in 1987, at the time when there was a tremendous opposition from the corners of the wasted interest against the philosophy of conducting corrective surgery on the Polio stricken people in rural area. However, he was not disappointed due to poor response. As a good friend, he could convince Sir John Wilson to extend support for the Polio corrective surgery. Resultantly, the local hostility calmed down and the Society attained a remarkable success, by conducting surgery on thousands of children in the medical camps. He continued to give his valuable guidance till he breathed his last on the 12th September 2005 at the age of 88. |
